USTA nationals update (for Thursday)

For most of Oakland County's contingent at the Super Nationals in Kalamazoo (boys) and San Diego (girls), the end has come. But for Michael Dube' and Jack Murray, the beat goes on. Here's a look at how most finished, and how Dube' and Murray are still doing as the tournament nears its conclusion.

Boys 16
  • Tim Wang finished 1-2, dropping his third-round match in the back draw to the 16th seed, Alfredo Perez.
  • Connor Johnston finished 2-2 (including a walk-over win). He fell in his 3Q match to Brandon Yeoh.
Boys 18
  • Michael Dube' dropped his first match of the tournament, 6-1, 6-0, to Collin Altamirano, in the round of 32. 
  • Max Fliegner finished the week 1-2, falling out of the tournament with a loss to the 19th seed, William Little.
  • Brett Forman also met his fate in the third round qualifier of the back draw, falling to Shane Monroe to finish 1-2 for the tournament.
  • Jack Murray continues to plug away in the back draw, as he defeated Justin Fields, Christian Garay and Trey Daniel to move on to the fourth round.
Girls 16
  • Sophia Abelson finished 1-2 for the week.
  • Dominique Vasile won her first two matches before dropping her last two, to finish 1-2 in San Diego.
  • Christina Jordan bowed out of the tournament with a 7-6 (3), 6-4 loss to Elizabeth Tedford. She finished 3-2
Girls 18
  • Alexandria Najarian wrapped up the week 1-2.
  • Lexi Baylis finished 0-2.
