Country Day-Rice tennis (Tout videos)

I would refer you back to my blog yesterday - but Blogger decided to mess with me and delete my prediction for the Country Day vs. Brother Rice match. So I cannot say - definitively - that I told you so. Not that I would.
To sum it up, I said the two teams would split doubles, but Country Day had the edge in singles and would win 5-3. Well, the Yellowjackets won three of four singles matches and split the doubles ... winning 5-3.
But it was so close that it could have easily went 5-3, Brother Rice. Or perhaps even a tie. Three matches went to three sets - Country Day on the winning end of two of them. Jakob Gahn needed three sets to get by John Ciraci at 3-singles, while Blake Burstein and Damian Runkle had to rally big time to beat George Hamaty and Connor Parks at 1-doubles. I had to leave early, and it looked like Hamaty and Parks were going to finish that match off. It proved to be the difference.
Rice's Chase Peery came to play, knocking off Noah Karoub in straight sets at 2-singles. And Rice's 2-3 doubles teams continued their great play - they were coming off an undefeated weekend at the Novi Invite. Joey Hildebrand and David Weatherford (2-dubs) and Brendan Dillon and Joe Paradiso (3-dubs) both picked up big wins over some great Country Day teams. Dillon and Paradiso handed D.J. Bailey and Matt Stebbins a rare loss. The pair won the Division 3 state championship last year.
Below is the box score of the match, and below that is our Tout video widget, with a few short videos from Tuesday's match. Remember - and I am encouraging this - you can download the Tout app for free and Tout to us using the hashtag #miprepzonetennis. We've yet to have anyone upload a video to any of our widgets. I want tennis to be the first. It's easy (just like Vine) but cooler, because we're using it.
