Let the Spartans tweet
"Is this guy really a QB I'll say my mans (walk-on Tommy Vento) is a better QB lol" tweeted linebacker Denicos Allen, obviously taking a light-hearted jab at the former Farmington Hills Harrison quarterback.
"I can play quarterback for the school in blue," tweeted former Southfield-Lathrup star Jamal Lyles
It both amazes me, yet doesn't surprise me that the tweets took place. My Facebook wall blew up during the game, with Spartans - left and right - taking jabs at the Wolverines' performance. And Twitter is a POWERFUL tool. It's a big part of our culture. And it's big among kids aged 15-24. I guess I'm surprised there wasn't a policy in place at MSU, keeping the players in check.
I don't mind kids tweeting. MIPrepZone wouldn't be half as successful if Twitter wasn't around. We thrive on the social networking site - add us @MIPrepZone if you'd like.
I'm just curious to know what - if any - the fallout will be for the Spartans. Coach Mark Dantonio is a good coach, but he's not afraid to be brash, to be bold. On the surface, he'll probably lay into the players a bit. But in the back of his mind, he's laughing with them.
